Greater Linköping Metropolitan Area Sweden
Summary
👤
SeniorEmil Segerås is a seasoned software developer with 14 years of experience building everything from low-level systems to polished user interfaces, currently contributing to Opera's Android UI team. His career began on an Atari 520ST and spans work on browser core graphics, deferred rendering, software rasterization, text rendering and IME integration during a decade on the Presto engine. Emil has a long history of experimental projects—music trackers, 2D physics engines, compilers and VMs, cross-platform GUI toolkits and an Android simulation game—reflecting a habit of exploring ideas end-to-end. He excels at bridging rendering internals and practical UI concerns, reducing overdraw and managing complex visibility and clipping problems. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic, systems-level solutions that translate into smoother, more efficient front-end experiences. Based in Linköping, Sweden, he combines deep graphics and core-engine expertise with a playful, tinkerer’s curiosity that keeps him shipping side projects alongside production work.
