Top SchoolEric Anderson is a research-focused electrical and computer engineer with 15+ years delivering hands-on systems research and multi-million-dollar R&D programs for academia, government, and industry. Currently a Research Associate Professor at Northeastern’s Institute for the Wireless Internet of Things, he combines deep expertise in wireless networking, RF channel characterization, cross-layer optimization, and public-safety communications with proven program leadership at NIST and in federally funded initiatives. He built large-scale experimental platforms—most notably redesigning a wireless network emulator capable of trillion-scale signal calculations—and developed foundational protocols such as X-MAC that helped enable IoT deployments. Eric bridges “pure” and applied research, shepherding teams from theoretical models to resilient, secure prototypes used in real-world emergency communications. Based in Boulder, he brings a rare mix of academic rigor (PhD and postdoc) and practical systems hacking, having founded a research consultancy and contributed to early SDR and election-monitoring tools.
