Top SchoolEric Blom is a geospatial data engineer with 15 years of experience building full-stack, data-driven applications and pipelines that scale. He combines frontend expertise in JavaScript/React with backend work in Python, PostgreSQL/PostGIS and serverless AWS to deliver responsive internal tools and reliable AI/data processing pipelines. At Corteva he modernized testing, observability, and DevOps workflows to reduce latency and improve on-call troubleshooting, and previously built high-uptime election and newsroom systems at major publishers like the San Francisco Chronicle and National Geographic. A longtime maker of newsroom data tools, he also contributes to open-source projects such as Kdenlive—improving title editing and proxy rendering—which speaks to a pragmatic focus on performance and UX across both web and desktop domains. Based in Minneapolis, he brings a journalist’s attention to data quality and storytelling to engineering, and he actively champions better team processes, documentation, and CI/CD practices.
