Top SchoolEric Kalujja is a pragmatic engineering leader and full-stack software engineer with eight years of experience building financial and consumer platforms across East Africa. As CTO & Backend Lead at Kawu he architects highly available, secure payment systems and oversees integrations with major payment providers (Interswitch, PayWay, DPO, MTN, Airtel) while running CI/CD, Linux, and database operations. He has led product delivery for SACCO and microfinance systems (Efinanci, Matrix) and shipped consumer apps like Muda Exchange and Kwan Tutors, often converting monoliths into multi-tenant, scalable architectures. A self-driven learner and former student community leader, he introduced Scrum at GMT to boost feature delivery by nearly 40%—evidence of his focus on process as well as code. Comfortable across Node.js, PHP, Go, React/React Native, Laravel, NestJs and MySQL, he combines hands-on engineering with practical ops and integration experience that enables fast, reliable financial products.
