Senior🎓
Top SchoolEric Koegel is a Senior Network Engineer with 14 years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and securing complex Cisco-centric networks across enterprise, defense, and deployed military environments. He specializes in routing and switching (ASR, Catalyst, Nexus), firewalls (ASA), VoIP, DMVPN/DMVPN Phase 3, MPLS TE, VPLS/EVPN, and tactical crypto integrations like KG-175/TACLANE. At Mission1st he translated architecture into platform configs for ARCENT, built EVPN/L2VPN interconnections with USAFCENT, and engineered classified DMVPN meshes to meet asymmetric routing and PACE requirements. Comfortable both in the datacenter and austere forward bases, he pairs operational troubleshooting with documentation, SOPs, and operator training to ensure secure, auditable handoffs. Eric holds a BS in IT Security from Western Governors University and brings a practical, security-first mindset shaped by years of field deployments and multi-domain coordination. An often overlooked strength is his track record of simplifying complex designs—e.g., migrating L3VPNs to VPLS/EVPN—to reduce operational overhead while preserving mission requirements.
