Top SchoolErik Shagdar is a seasoned backend web developer and IT leader with 11 years of experience building and modernizing production systems, currently serving as Vice President, IT Backend Web Developer at Lazard Asset Management. He has deep expertise in FileMaker Pro, MySQL, Python and AppleScript, and a track record of migrating legacy systems to multi-tenant architectures while automating operational workflows that saved days of developer time each month. At the New York Hotel Trades Council he combined data engineering and visualization—using Google Maps API and XML parsing—to drive member mobilization and operational insight. Comfortable across hands-on database tuning, deployment automation and desktop automation, he also brings practical IT ops experience from earlier director-level roles. Multilingual (Mongolian, conversational Russian, familiar German) and New York–based, he blends pragmatic engineering with a knack for automating repetitive processes to amplify team productivity.
