Summary
👤
SeniorErnie Smith is a versatile freelance journalist and newsletter editor with 11+ years crafting long-form features, editorial strategy, and email-driven audience growth across outlets like Vice’s Motherboard, Atlas Obscura, Fast Company, and ASAE’s Associations Now. He built and sustains Tedium, a twice-weekly newsletter with a 12,000-strong audience and a custom Craft CMS backend, and runs a smaller creative newsletter plus a 2,000-member community for email professionals. With roots in newspaper design and a decade at Manifest shaping B2B content and site launches, he blends visual design instincts with sharp storytelling and content strategy. Comfortable breaking tech and culture stories, he also codes lightweight publishing systems and experiments with emerging social platforms, making him as much a product-minded editor as a writer.
