Top SchoolEthan Dicks is a Senior Consultant based in Columbus, Ohio with 13 years of professional experience building and automating Linux and UNIX infrastructure across enterprise and research environments. At Red Hat he specializes in Ansible-driven automation, deploying HA/DR Ansible Tower clusters and crafting custom roles that manage servers, routers, and firewalls for medium to large estates. His background spans deep systems work—from RedHat, Ubuntu, Solaris and HP-UX to networking with Cisco and TCP/IP—combined with hands-on C/C++ and Perl scripting to solve complex operational problems. He has a proven track record migrating datacenters, modernizing stacks with Docker, OpenStack and cloud services, and improving reliability through monitoring and orchestration. Unusually for an infrastructure expert, he also teaches electronics and maker skills locally and has maintained critical systems in extreme conditions (supporting IceCube at the South Pole), highlighting practical troubleshooting and a broad hardware-to-software skill set.
