Top SchoolEthan Johnson is a Computer Science student and hands-on XR organizer who founded the TigerVerse XR Hackathon and currently leads Mizzou Virtual Reality as President, growing participation from 6 to 91+ attendees and 22 project submissions in his first run. He combines practical VR/AR development experience—building a HoloLens-controlled mixed-reality CNC interface—with software engineering internships and teaching support roles, bridging research, mentorship, and production work. As Hacking Coordinator for Missouri Hacks and Art Grant Lead for Reality Hack partnerships, he designs inclusive programs that coax high schoolers and artists into technical creativity. His background as a collegiate athlete informs a disciplined, team-first leadership style that scales volunteer-run events and cross-functional organizer teams. Ethan’s GitHub persona signals a playful, pragmatic maker mentality: focused on building “cool stuff” that people can use and learn from.
