Top SchoolEthan Uphoff is a junior mechanical engineering student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln specializing in robotics and aerospace systems, currently contributing to lunar surface technology as a Mechanical Assistant at Cislune. He combines hands-on prototyping and SolidWorks design with experimental research—his NASA Space Grant work developed and tested rover-mounted vibratory rollers for regolith compaction using ANOVA and frequency-response analysis. As an active Lunabotics team member he has built and competed with excavation systems for NASA challenges, bridging mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver integrated robots. His background includes leadership in academic success initiatives and nearly three years of frontline customer service, which sharpened his communication and project coordination skills. Motivated by sustainable lunar infrastructure and ISRU, he brings practical lab-to-field experience and a knack for iterating prototypes toward mission-ready solutions.
