Summary
👤
SeniorEugene Blokhin is a seasoned software engineer and technical leader with 14 years of experience building scalable, resilient backend systems and leading high-performing teams from Amsterdam. He has a proven track record of architecting zero-downtime migrations, converting synchronous systems to event-driven architectures, and driving performance optimizations that have yielded up to 1000x improvements. Eugene blends hands-on engineering (C#/.NET, Azure, event messaging) with AI/ML integration and observability practices to modernize legacy systems and enable predictable delivery. His work at Firely on a global FHIR server included AST-based query optimizations, ETL migrations, and AI-driven release documentation that streamlined client onboarding. Comfortable in regulated domains like healthcare and finance, he also focuses on developer experience, mentoring, and process improvements that reduce effort while increasing reliability. A pragmatic problem-solver, he often delivers large impact with focused engineering changes and a bias toward measurable results.
