Top SchoolEvan Kanter is a software engineer and University of Toronto computer science specialist focused on AI, currently working on integrity and investigator tooling at Meta to keep large-scale social and metaverse platforms safe. With eight years of experience across startups, municipal tech, and enterprise, he ships end-to-end systems—from cloud-hosted case management and SQL-backed analytics to React/GraphQL front-ends and privacy-compliant data tooling. He has a strong teaching and curriculum development background, having authored hundreds of course questions and test suites for introductory CS classes while mentoring large student cohorts. Evan combines technical depth (Python, TypeScript, SQL, C#, .NET) with real-world product impact, including an 80% reduction in data integration time and a 10% efficiency gain for moderation flows at Meta. His interdisciplinary interests in law, ethics, and politics inform a clear ambition to work at the intersection of computer science and law, and he brings practical leadership from student government, mock trial, and large-scale volunteer mentoring. Outside work he’s a multi-instrumentalist and theatre technician who leverages community-facing roles to sharpen empathy and operational rigor.
