Top SchoolEvan Mena is a Senior Software Engineer with 10 years of experience designing and operating distributed systems and data infrastructure at petabyte scale. Currently on GitHub’s Data Infrastructure team, he builds and migrates object storage and search services (Go, Kubernetes, Terraform) and has led live migrations of petabytes from AWS S3 to Azure Blob Storage. Previously he accelerated Grafana Cloud’s integrations as a backend tech lead—tripling trial conversion—and built large-scale observability systems at DigitalOcean, including a Prometheus ingestor and regionally distributed uptime monitoring. Evan combines hands-on service development with strong operational tooling and mentorship, and brings a proven track record of shipping robust, production-grade infrastructure across cloud providers. An often-overlooked strength is his end-to-end ownership: from prototyping and design docs to runbooks and live migrations.
