Senior🎓
Top SchoolFela Winkelmolen is a founder and machine learning practitioner with 14 years of experience building production ML systems and tooling across startups and Amazon/AWS. He helped prototype AWS Autopilot and authored internal libraries for hyperparameter tuning and benchmarking that became core to his research team's workflow, bridging scientist needs and engineering rigor. At Amazon he transitioned from software engineer to ML scientist without a PhD by self-teaching advanced ML and teaching internal courses, a sign of his practical mastery and pedagogy. He’s advised early-stage teams on ML strategy—pushing LLM adoption at Twain—and now runs a stealth AI startup from Berlin focused on exploratory, high-impact work. Early startup stints gave him full-stack product chops and a bias for pragmatic, shipping-first solutions that scale. Collected across roles, his strength is converting research into reliable production features and developer-friendly tooling.
