Top SchoolFelix Gateru is a software and embedded systems engineer with six years of hands-on experience building firmware, electronics, and product designs for aerospace and manufacturing applications. Currently at Ultraviolet, he brings a mechatronics-first perspective informed by prior roles as a propulsion systems and electrical engineer on the Nakuja Project and product design work at Octavia Carbon. Proficient in C/C++, Embedded C, Python and Go, he designs PCBs, writes Mbed OS firmware, and integrates control theory into real-world electromechanical systems. Felix’s experience spans the full development lifecycle from rapid prototyping and additive/subtractive fabrication to test and integration firmware. He pairs a formal mechatronics education with practical startup and lab experience in Nairobi, driven by a specific interest in applying control systems to rockets and complex mechanisms. Colleagues describe him as eager to learn, adaptable, and focused on turning theoretical control concepts into reliable hardware implementations.
