Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolFeng Yao is a seasoned software engineer with 14 years of experience building web products and frontend-first applications, currently contributing at DeepL from Berlin. He has a strong track record at consumer and data-driven platforms like Douban and Civey and recently shipped full-stack features using Next.js, Hasura, TypeScript and Tailwind at Restack. Comfortable across the stack, Feng combines frontend craftsmanship with backend pragmatism—early work includes a ZeroMQ/Python notification queue—and maintains a homelab and smarthome practice that informs his interest in reliable, deployable systems. Fluent in shipping user-facing music and polling products as well as developer consoles, he brings product-minded engineering and a bias for shipping polished, scalable web interfaces.
