Senior🎓
Top SchoolFernando Luz is an engineering leader with 16+ years of hands-on software development and a decade of management experience, currently leading the Search & Discovery microservices migration at AUTODOC. He combines deep technical chops in Go, Kafka, C++ and HPC with a PhD-level foundation from USP, having shipped complex systems from maritime simulators to contact-center banking integrations. As an engineering manager he coaches teams, instituted QA and Agile best practices, and scaled delivery across cross-functional units while maintaining strong emphasis on code quality, testing and observability. Notably, he has driven performance-driven refactors (e.g., simulator framerate and rendering optimizations) and led QA and team-building efforts that turned new projects into production releases within tight timelines. Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, he blends research-grade rigor with pragmatic product delivery and a passion for knowledge sharing.
