Top SchoolFrancisco Bórquez is a civil engineer and project manager with over 27 years of international experience delivering maritime, mining, industrial and transport infrastructure projects across Latin America, Oceania, Africa and the United States. He combines hands-on structural and maritime design expertise with senior project direction—covering prefeasibility, feasibility and detailed engineering through construction supervision and contract management. Known for leading complex port and bulk-terminal works (iron ore, copper concentrate, coal and liquids) as well as rail, road and industrial plants, he bridges technical depth with client-facing business development. His career spans major firms and roles from discipline lead to regional team leader, managing multidisciplinary teams on high-stakes assignments such as CODELCO, SQM and major port authorities. Francisco pairs a solid technical foundation from Universidad de Chile with a graduate diploma in engineering management, and a practical bent for adapting solutions to diverse regulatory and site conditions. Despite a long engineering pedigree, he’s kept a learning mindset (noted in his GitHub bio) and often steps into technical review roles even while managing programs.
