Top SchoolFranco Alvarado is a versatile digital products and publishing technologist with nine years of experience delivering accessibility-compliant ebooks, automated workflows, and standards-driven production at publishers and startups. As founder of Franco Alvarado Consulting and a senior strategist at Macmillan Learning, he led initiatives that cut production errors in half, quintupled validation throughput, and drove Benetech Global Certified Accessible accreditation across a publisher’s catalog. He blends hands-on tooling—CSS, EPUB, Python automation and CMS integrations—with product ownership and Jira-driven backlog refinement to turn brittle processes into repeatable pipelines. His background in design and publishing (from magazine layout to ebook styling) gives him a rare combination of editorial sensibility and technical rigor. Franco also mentors teams through training and gap analyses, consistently reducing cycle time and costly manual reviews. Based in Greater Boston, he writes and designs ebooks and often bridges creative publishing needs with pragmatic engineering solutions.
