Senior🎓
Top SchoolFranco Valdes is a Director of Engineering and founder who blends 11 years of hands-on software craft with product-first entrepreneurship, currently building FestKit to replace festival planners’ spreadsheet-and-email chaos with map-driven site planning, vendor self-serve, and AI-powered workflows. He previously ran Carta Maps for four years, pivoting the product after discovering a strong user base of festival organizers and doubling down on a niche market. At Safety Radar he leads engineering while shipping fast as a solo founder using React, React Native, Postgres, Hono, and modern AI tooling. His background spans startups and enterprise teams—from Kroger Digital to nearly seven years at Union where he grew into Director of Technology—giving him deep experience scaling teams and systems. Based in Charlotte, NC, he’s equally at home talking maps, SaaS, or the product insights that come from shipping and iterating in public.
