Gabriel J. Bowen
Summary
👤
SeniorGabriel Bautista is a Full-Stack Software Engineer based in Salt Lake City with a BS in Computer Science from the University of Utah and a decade of professional experience delivering responsive web and mobile applications. He specializes in React and TypeScript, has built and deployed containerized services to Google Cloud, and applies practical mathematical analysis to real-world problems like avalanche risk modeling. Gabriel blends hands-on coding—front-end React Native UIs and Android data collection—with scripting and automation for research studies, and has polished his craft through teaching roles and peer code reviews. Comfortable in agile teams, he has refactored legacy DoD systems into modern C# .NET MAUI apps and routinely documents and tests to make projects reproducible and maintainable. Notably, his work at AvyViz combined user-centered product planning with geospatial data parsing to turn raw map data into actionable trail risk assessments.
