Senior🎓
Top SchoolGagan Bansal is an architect specializing in web mapping and geospatial application development with over 15 years of hands-on experience in satellite/aerial data processing, large-scale mapping and geospatial database design. Based in Mumbai, he has led migration projects from proprietary GIS stacks to scalable open-source architectures (MapServer, PostGIS, TileCache) and built user-focused mapping products like labs.rediff.com, real-time AQI visualizations and election/result maps. He blends deep domain expertise from an M.Tech in Remote Sensing with practical engineering—modifying mobile libraries, creating WMST integrations with ISRO’s Bhuvan, and prototyping landmark-based routing using pgRouting and Python APIs. Known for turning complex spatial problems into editor-friendly publishing workflows, he routinely connects tabular data to GeoJSON and renders interactive maps with OpenLayers. His background in high-precision surveying, photogrammetry and production mapping gives him rare end-to-end fluency from data capture to consumer-facing map widgets.
