Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolGareth Weaver is a senior frontend engineer with over a decade of experience building high-performance e-commerce and agency websites, currently working on the BigW storefront at Upgrowth. He excels in React, Next.js, Astro, Gatsby and TypeScript, and has a strong eye for design that elevates UI detail beyond typical developer output. As a former lead at Wonderbly he combined line management, hiring, and technical leadership—driving migrations, performance improvements and an Algolia search integration while laying foundations in Turborepo/Astro. He’s comfortable across the stack (Node/Express, build pipelines and CMS integrations) and has a track record of modernising legacy apps and build systems. Based in Queensland, Australia, Gareth pairs public-facing frontend polish with pragmatic engineering practices that keep high-traffic sites running smoothly. An understated strength is his habit of running internal workshops and mentoring engineers to lift team capability alongside shipping features.
