Gavin Sharp
Software Developer at Phenoml
Canada
Summary
👤
SeniorGavin Sharp is a seasoned software developer and leader with 20 years’ experience building and scaling product and platform engineering teams across startups and large organizations. He’s led architecture and platform efforts at League, directed engineering at 500px, and managed major parts of Firefox at Mozilla, combining deep front-end expertise with cloud-native, serverless back-ends. As an early hire and tech lead at startups like Properly and Phenoml, he’s delivered unified web applications and monorepo infrastructure while wearing both hands-on developer and people-lead hats. Comfortable across frontend, backend, infra and security, he’s known for turning maintenance-heavy codebases into forward-moving product engines and for shipping Web SDKs and platform tooling that span entire organizations. Based in Canada, Gavin blends enterprise-scale reliability with startup speed and a pragmatic focus on developer experience that often goes unnoticed in his leadership roles.
