Top SchoolGeferson Lucatelli is a PhD student in astrophysics at The University of Manchester with 11 years of research experience applying mathematical, statistical and computational methods to galaxy morphology and radio astronomy. He developed automated, non-parametric approaches to structural analysis and image/signal processing, combining Python, Mathematica and LaTeX for reproducible scientific computing. A former CAPES-funded researcher and FURG alumnus, he has presented work at international schools and helped organize academic events, reflecting strong communication and community engagement. Fluent in Portuguese and conversational in English, he balances rigorous theoretical training with practical coding and Linux system skills—and, intriguingly, tends to farm in his spare time.
