Top SchoolGeorge Drummond is a seasoned software engineer with 13 years of experience, currently building backend and product-focused features at GitHub from Philadelphia. A Ruby and Rails specialist who fluently moves across Python, Elixir, and modern JS frameworks, he combines hands-on implementation with product and business sensibility—having led teams and shipped cross-platform mobile and web products from MVP to production. He has a track record of leading projects and interviewing/hiring engineers at companies like Betterment and BuildingBlok, and has delivered cloud-agnostic systems using Docker and Kubernetes for government and enterprise clients. Comfortable as principal contributor or team lead, he pairs deep technical craft with clear stakeholder communication and a knack for quickly learning new languages and architectures. An early career in education and public-sector roles also gives him an uncommon aptitude for mentoring and translating complex requirements into practical software.
