George Hartt
Robotics Teacher at Building Imagination
London, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorGeorge Hartt is a robotics engineer and educator based in London with a decade of hands-on experience spanning embedded systems, ROS-based SLAM, and machine learning applications. He progressed from intern roles at Czech Technical University and Magazino to lead software and deployment for Magazino’s Soto robot, where he worked deeply on Cartographer SLAM, resource profiling, and low-level ROS debugging. Now teaching robotics to 7–11 year olds, he translates complex concepts into playful, practical lessons using platforms like Ozobots while continuing to prototype ambitious personal projects—an untethered one-legged jumper and a plant-tending robot among them. Comfortable across microcontrollers, electronics extrusion, Python/C++ and ROS, he brings both field deployment experience and a maker’s curiosity to every project. Unusually for an educator, he retains substantial production robotics deployment experience, bridging classroom learning with real-world robotic systems.
