Top SchoolGeorge Karr is an engineering manager with nine years of hands-on experience building and operating distributed microservice platforms and embedded systems, now leading engineering at Fleet Device Management from Cedar Park, TX. He blends low-level C/C++ firmware and driver experience with backend Python and Go work running 13+ microservices across global data centers, CI/CD, and SOC Type 2–compliant deployments. A pragmatic team leader, he has managed and grown teams of six engineers, introduced Agile and automated testing practices, and improved observability and scaling using Prometheus and Grafana. Notable strengths include designing efficient embedded DSP workflows and creating tooling—CLIs and dynamic test environments—to make complex cloud stacks testable with limited resources. He’s motivated by full lifecycle ownership, continuous improvement, and a personal curiosity for gadgets and practical automation.
