Top SchoolGerald Isabelle is a Senior Software Engineer based in London with 11 years of experience delivering accessible, high-performance frontend applications across government, defence and commercial sectors. SC-cleared and versed in GDS and MOD standards, he has led component-driven design systems and Storybook libraries that improved reuse and consistency across multiple large programmes. His background spans startups to central government—shipping production web apps for the Royal Navy, Ministry of Justice and export services—while championing test-driven development, accessibility (WCAG) and UI performance. Gerald combines hands-on React and modern frontend architecture with close backend collaboration (Python/Node) to streamline integrations and CI/CD, and he’s spent significant time mentoring teams and standardising patterns to speed delivery. An engineer who thinks like a product designer, he often bridges UX, content and technical teams to turn complex policy or business requirements into user-focused, maintainable interfaces.
