Top SchoolGerard Lasheras is a Lead System Engineer with over 12 years of experience designing and building web and backend systems, containerized platforms, and future network solutions across R&D and enterprise settings. Trained as a Telecommunication Engineer with a Master of Science from UPC, he began his career in research-focused media and networking projects and later brought that systems thinking to HPC and digital lab environments at Boehringer Ingelheim. He blends hands-on backend development (Python and Rust proclivities) with platform and infrastructure responsibility, helping interdisciplinary teams deliver cloud-native, real-time media and data-driven products. Gerard has a track record of translating academic research into production-grade tools—his master’s work on distributed real-time media production over clouds is an example—while driving digital transformation initiatives within large organizations. Colleagues value his ability to bridge product, UX, and data science needs with robust engineering and operational practices. Based in Spain, he thrives on learning new technologies and applying research-grade ideas to solve practical business problems.
