Senior🎓
Top SchoolGerrit Vanderlugt is a Development Manager and polyglot engineering leader with 13 years of experience building full-stack platforms and high-performing teams from the ground up. He combines hands-on technical depth—spanning React, TypeScript, Python, Django, Next.js and AWS—with product-minded design sensibilities to deliver scalable, user-focused solutions such as a content delivery CMS that cut delivery times by over 99% and a national cold-case data platform. Known for “strong opinions, loosely held,” he zooms between strategy and deep technical execution, often tackling the hardest bugs and architectural challenges himself. A proven founder and operator, Gerrit has bootstrapped a peer-to-peer marketplace, led migrations of 8,000+ documents to accessible content formats, and consistently reduced costs through performance and architecture optimizations. Based in Chattanooga, he prioritizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and shipping elegant systems that unlock new markets.
