Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolGilbert Torchon is a Full Stack React developer with a bachelor’s in Computer Science and nine years of hands-on experience building web and mobile products, primarily with React and React Native. He progressed from FreeCodeCamp and Flatiron certifications into roles where he led teams, trained peers, and shipped core features for FinTech and social apps at companies like Hello Alice and BairesDev. Comfortable across the stack, he has implemented production image-caching, RTK Query-powered front ends, AWS Amplify/Cognito integrations, and PostgreSQL-backed services. As a frequent solo freelancer and co-founder, he’s delivered end-to-end projects—from UX and Figma designs to Rails or Node back-ends and Stripe payments—demonstrating strong product ownership. Colleagues rely on him for fast ramp-up on unfamiliar stacks (e.g., converting designs into Angular then React) and for improving test coverage and deployment workflows. Based in Port-au-Prince, he blends a practical, self-taught curiosity with formal training and an ongoing appetite to learn more.
