Senior🎓
Top SchoolGiorgio Locicero is an HPC scientific application developer and PhD candidate in complex systems with eight years’ experience building scalable simulations and distributed bioinformatics tools. He blends research in complex network theory and quantum computing with hands-on engineering—recently integrating multimodal biological time-series into cell-to-cell communication simulators during a research visit to Teesside University. Now at CINECA, he focuses on high-performance scientific applications while maintaining a portfolio of reactive Scala and distributed systems work completed as a freelance analyst. Giorgio has a strong academic foundation (MSc and BSc with top honors) and experience drafting Horizon Europe project proposals, signaling fluency in both grant-driven research and production-grade code. Based in Sicily, he combines deep theoretical interests with practical skills in databases, parallel programming, and bioinformatics pipelines. He’s equally comfortable authoring simulations for research and shipping customer-facing Scala gigs, a mix that helps bridge academia and applied engineering.
