Giovanni Kock Bonetti
Software Engineer
Summary
👤
SeniorGiovanni Bonetti is a founding software engineer and pragmatic tech leader with 11 years building cloud-native web backends, data pipelines, and developer workflows across startups and healthcare/fintech companies. He specializes in Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Docker, GCP/AWS, and scalable ETL/analytics (BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse), and has a track record of cutting cloud costs and improving deploy frequency through automation. Comfortable moving from hands-on bug hunts deep in the stack to mentoring teams, he has led engineering at a payments acquirer, built patient-engagement integrations for millions of users, and co-founded an accelerator-backed startup. An avid polyglot, he explores Rust, Haskell and Elixir in spare time and has contributed to real-world tooling (example: troubleshooting cloudsql-proxy), combining academic training from ITA with practical, cost-conscious engineering.
