Summary
👤
SeniorGreg Chaix is a Senior Performance Engineer in Portland, Oregon with over two decades of hands-on experience building and tuning scalable communications and web infrastructure. He combines deep systems administration roots (Linux, Solaris, Windows) with technical leadership in high-availability, disaster recovery, and Drupal-centric performance optimization at Tag1 Consulting. Greg has led large public-sector and educational deployments—automating on-demand course servers for Oregon schools and managing multi-server landscapes for federal agencies—demonstrating an ability to translate complex policy and stakeholder needs into reliable production systems. He excels at standardizing configuration management, version control, and deployment workflows to make teams more effective and systems more resilient. Known for pragmatic problem-solving, Greg pairs operational discipline with developer empathy, often bridging gaps between ops, security, and application teams. Outside of obvious infrastructure wins, he brings a rare mix of broadcast production calm and rapid-response incident leadership shaped by early live-newscast experience.
