Summary
👤
SeniorGrigory Shamov is a Research Computing Coordinator and ARC Support Site Lead with over a decade of hands-on experience building and operating HPC systems for academia and national DRI infrastructure. Based in Winnipeg, he leads the Advance Research Computing team at the University of Manitoba, managing the local supercomputer and coordinating support across provincial and national federated platforms. His background spans technical site leadership at WestGrid/ComputeCanada, long-term HPC operations, and earlier academic research in theoretical and quantum chemistry, which gives him an uncommon blend of deep scientific insight and systems engineering. He has repeatedly scaled local services to integrate with national HPC federations and trained researcher users to get production results from complex compute environments. Known for moving between low-level cluster administration and strategic program coordination, he combines pragmatic troubleshooting with capacity-building across research communities.
