Top SchoolGuillaume Lobet is an Associate Professor at Université catholique de Louvain and a computational plant scientist with 12 years of research and academic experience bridging bioengineering and plant systems modelling. He develops and applies computational models to understand root–shoot interactions and soil–plant water dynamics, translating high-resolution experimental imaging into mechanistic insights relevant to crops like maize. Having held joint appointments with Forschungszentrum Jülich and led interdisciplinary projects since his PhD, he combines hands-on experimental design (rhizotrons, thermal/visible imaging) with quantitative simulation. Beyond research, he has a track record of academic leadership and community building, previously presiding over the Earth and Life Institute researchers’ association.
