Top SchoolGuoqing Ge is a research scientist based in Boulder, Colorado with eight years of experience applying advanced data assimilation and numerical modeling to radar, satellite, lightning, aerosol, and GPS/GNSS observations. He holds a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma and combines mesoscale expertise on thunderstorms, supercells, tornadoes and hurricanes with cutting-edge AI/ML approaches for data assimilation. Working jointly at NOAA and the University of Colorado Boulder since 2015, he develops operationally relevant techniques that bridge observational systems and predictive models. His profile reflects a rare blend of hands-on atmospheric process knowledge and algorithmic innovation, including work that leverages non-traditional data streams like lightning and GNSS for improved short-term forecasts.
