Guozhen La
Summary
👤
SeniorGuozhen La is an ML engineer with nine years of experience building machine learning platforms and infrastructure across high-scale companies, now on the founding team at Basis in New York. He has driven production ML tooling and data processing at Spotify, Snap, and Cruise, bringing a pragmatic bridge between research and engineering that enables models to move reliably from prototype to production. His background in computer engineering from the University of Waterloo and early roles spanning quantitative development and networking give him a strong systems-first perspective on performance and reliability. Known for thriving in both startup and large-company environments, he focuses on scalable data pipelines, model-serving infrastructure, and developer experience. Notably, he combines hands-on software engineering with platform-level design, making him equally comfortable optimizing low-level systems and shaping ML product roadmaps.
