Senior🎓
Top SchoolHal Fulton is a seasoned software leader and author with three decades of industry experience and dual computer science degrees, best known for writing The Ruby Way and being an early adopter and advocate of Ruby since 1999. He has held technical and leadership roles across startups and established firms—most recently as Executive Director of Open Space Foundation after a decade at Simpli.fi—and has deep hands-on experience in Ruby, systems programming in C/C++, and large-scale data processing. A prolific speaker and conference veteran, he has presented globally and continues to hone Elixir skills while offering training and remote engagements. Beyond code, Hal is an accomplished technical and creative writer—publishing short fiction, plays, and space-related books—and has actively supported space advocacy through leadership at MarsDrive. An interesting non-obvious detail: his Ruby book was only the second English-language book on the language, reflecting both early involvement and lasting influence in the community.
