Top SchoolHeather Young is a Senior Staff Software Engineer with 12 years of experience building and operating cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and data pipelines for fast-moving startups in healthcare and music distribution. She specializes in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, FluxCD/GitHub Actions, and observability tooling, and has a track record of reducing security risk and right-sizing infrastructure for cost and performance. At CareRev she owned ELT processes with Kafka/Confluent and dbt and stepped into a data engineering role during turnover, demonstrating both technical breadth and adaptability. She co-founded and runs infrastructure for a simple video chat product, contributing hands-on Go/Node.js automation and on-call incident response. Based in Yakima, WA and a Harvey Mudd graduate in Math & CS, she pairs a process-driven, people-centered approach with a persistent curiosity—often switching between hiking trails, kitchens, and airplane seats when not automating systems.
