Top SchoolHunter Heaivilin is a food systems planner and Geog PhD candidate based in Hawaiʻi with eight years of cross-sector experience helping communities, governments, and nonprofits design resilient, equitable food and land-use systems. He blends GIS-based modeling, data visualization, and participatory facilitation to translate climate and land-suitability research into practical planning, policy, and marketplace solutions—from zoning studies for Honolulu to scaling a farm marketplace that grew tenfold. His work spans disaster-ready food security analysis, legislative advocacy for small farms, and front-end geospatial products for diverse clients, reflecting a rare mix of technical, policy, and community-facing skills. Grounded in urban/regional planning and regenerative design, he focuses on restoring ancestral abundance and building local food economies that withstand shocks.
