Top SchoolIan Underwood is a classically trained network engineer with 13 years of experience who now blends deep routing and switching expertise with practical software development and NetDevOps at Boston Children's Hospital. He leads work on core/campus networks, VPNs, IP multicast, optical transport and network automation using Python and NetBox, while mentoring teams and modeling infrastructure for scale. Past roles span high-availability design for Splunk, IPv6 rollouts, and data-center network builds for enterprises including Pearson and eClinicalWorks, showing sustained work across carrier, corporate, and healthcare environments. Based in Boston, he pairs hands-on field experience going back to dial-up and T1 era technologies with modern automation practices—an engineer comfortable both with legacy transport quirks and shipping code to simplify operations.
