Top SchoolIlian Trifonov is an experienced engineering manager with 12 years building and leading teams to deliver highly reliable, large-scale financial systems. He has driven architecture, delivery and operational excellence at Uber—owning global payout, tax and compliance domains—and now leads engineering at Databricks from the Netherlands. Ilian combines hands-on engineering (Go, Python, distributed systems) with people leadership, having scaled teams of 8–10 engineers, introduced structured postmortems, and redesigned promotion processes to reduce bias. He’s skilled at translating complex regulatory and financial requirements into auditable, automated systems and has a track record of guiding high‑precision migrations and cross-organizational alignment. A former technical lead and early career civil engineer, he brings a practical, process-oriented mindset to solving large engineering and organizational challenges.
