Top SchoolIris Faraway is a Lead Digital Developer with a decade of experience building user-focused web services for the UK public sector from Bath. A pragmatic Ruby on Rails specialist who also works with Node.js, JavaScript and both SQL and NoSQL datastores, she champions clean, well-tested code and multidisciplinary Agile delivery. At DEFRA she leads digital work on open-source services (notably as the main contributor to the waste-carriers-engine Rails project), translating complex policy needs into efficient, user-friendly interfaces. Earlier roles at the University of Bath honed her cross-functional skills in content strategy, user research and stakeholder engagement, giving her a rare blend of technical craft and content-first thinking. Colleagues rely on her for maintaining high code standards, mentoring peers and shipping maintainable solutions that real users enjoy.
