Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolIstván Demeter is a Senior Software Developer based in Switzerland with 16 years of experience building web and API applications across Ruby on Rails, Node.js and Elixir/Phoenix. Currently at Emarsys since 2013, he combines backend craftsmanship with cloud-native operations using Google Cloud (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, BigTable, CloudSQL, Kubernetes) and relational/noSQL databases like Postgres, MySQL and Mongo. His earlier career bridged Linux systems and DevOps—Puppet, Varnish, Redis, virtualization and public IaaS—which gives him a pragmatic edge when designing resilient, observable systems. He is comfortable spanning the stack from infrastructure to application code and shipping production services at scale. Colleagues rely on him for steady delivery and deep troubleshooting rather than flashy prototypes. Trained in electrical engineering and telecommunications, he brings a systems-thinking mindset to software architecture and operational reliability.
