Summary
🤩
RockstarIzmar Verhage is an experienced Information Technology Consultant and software engineer based in Amsterdam with nine years building everything from low-latency C++ audio engines and exotic byte-level parsers to scalable Scala microservices and IDE integrations. He combines hands-on implementation—author of the MPC2000XL emulator VMPC2000XL and contributor to Scala language support and LLM integrations at JetBrains—with people-first technical leadership, preferring quality, simplicity, and nudging teams toward the right trade-offs. Comfortable in roles spanning architecture, design, infrastructure and CI/CD, he excels at surfacing technical risks early and escalating for deeper investigation when needed. A practical builder who also cares deeply about teammates’ careers and wellbeing, he now runs his own consultancy to help teams get the most from existing people and resources. Outside work he’s a self-described “mango connoisseur,” a small hint at a curious, detail-oriented personality.
