Top SchoolJames Li is a mathematician-turned-software entrepreneur who has spent over two decades helping researchers and analysts make sense of high-dimensional, complex data through visualization and exploratory analytics. As founder, Chief Scientist, and Project Manager at VisuMap Technologies since 2004, he led development of the VisuMap product used worldwide across banking, telecom, oil & gas, and bioinformatics to reveal geometric and topological structure in datasets. His expertise spans nonlinear dimensionality reduction, multidimensional scaling, relational perspective maps, dynamical systems simulation, clustering, and high-performance computing, grounded in a PhD in computer science. Based in Calgary, he pairs deep theoretical knowledge with practical product delivery, often translating abstract mathematical models into interactive tools that surface unexpected patterns for domain experts.
