Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolJames Marcogliese is a Senior Data Engineer II with 11 years of experience building data platforms, ML pipelines, and backend services across cloud environments (GCP, AWS, BigQuery, Snowflake) and distributed systems. He combines hands-on software engineering—having driven a microservices transition and high-throughput analytics at Madgex—with applied machine learning work spanning recommender systems, RAG/LangChain integrations, and text summarization. At Replicant he established company-wide data observability and guided GCP/Terraform best practices, and at trnd.io he delivered both state-of-the-art NLP retrieval systems and a benchmark data warehouse that dramatically cut costs and sped queries. James is an active mentor and open-source contributor (Meltano, Airbyte), comfortable translating business priorities into measurable data outcomes and often surfacing non-obvious improvements in data consumer alignment and pipeline reliability.
