Top SchoolJarad Niemi is a director-level statistical consultant and professor with 14 years of academic experience and over a decade teaching at Iowa State University, specializing in Bayesian and agricultural statistics. He develops computational Bayesian methods and leads applied data analyses that inform agricultural decision-making and disease outbreak policy. As Professor in Charge of Data Science and Director of Statistical Consulting, he bridges methodological research with real-world consulting across interdisciplinary teams. His background spans chemical engineering and biostatistics (B.ChE, M.S.) and a Ph.D. in Statistical Science from Duke, giving him a rare blend of experimental, computational, and domain expertise. Early career roles—from industry research at Procter & Gamble to biological experiments at the University of Minnesota—underscore his practical approach to statistical problems. Colleagues describe him as a methodologist who quickly translates complex Bayesian theory into usable analyses for stakeholders in agriculture and public health.
